Tyler J. Bugbee, 22, and Adam J. Cardella, 21, of Lloyd, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance on Saturday. Cardella was also arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana.
The two were stopped around 9:34 p.m., in a 2005 BMW for an infraction of the vehicle and traffic law on Route 44 in the town of Pleasant Valley. A strong odor of marijuana was detected during the interview of the occupants and a during a search, troopers found more than four grams of cocaine, state police said.
Bugbee and Cardella were both arraigned before the Pleasant Valley Court. Cardella was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. Bugbee was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
